Jacksboro Middle School

Jacksboro Middle School required a phasing out of the old school facility on the

same site while the new construction proceeded.  The community associated the

present site with the school and wanted to reuse the site for the new facility.

The school's old portables were  transferred to the front of the site while a rear

wing was demolished.  This allowed for the new facility to be constructed behind

the existing school without disrupting classes.  When the school year was over

that following may, the rest of the old facility was demolished to make room for

the new parking lot and bus loops.  The design intent focused on three

independent wings with common spaces like cafeteria, gymnasium, and

administration in the center.
