Clay County High School (Celina, TN)

Clay County High School in Celina was a two phase project.  The first phase

consisted of site work, the main building and parking lots.  The second phase

included the athletic fields, bleachers and field house.  By integrating the

second phase's site work into the beginning of the first phase, greater speed,

efficiency and lower cost for phase two followed.  This early consideration of

a multi-phased project allowed the use of a geothermal mechanical system

which requires multiple boring fields throughout the site.  The commons area

and corridors incorporate porcelain tile flooring, while in the cafeteria utilizes

a marble tile product.  Varying the quality of materials depending on the amount

of anticipated traffic and abuse is one way of boosting the longevity of the

building.  The gymnasium provides seating for 1,500 spectators making it an

ideal venue for basketball tournaments.
